Tribes2 has a simple colour system that allows to to highlight any text with set colours. Simply add the following colour codes to the text string for your message:

\c0 is a dull blue highlight
\c1 is a brighter blue highlight
\c2 is a dull green highlight
\c3 is a brighter green highlight
\c4 is a dull gold highlight
\c5 is a brighter gold highlight
