Upsetchaps was founded in August 1996, it's been an enjoyable seven years. We're still around, albeit dormant, waiting for Quake 4 to arrive. Our respect and regards to all of you, have a great New Year.

Season's Greetings (December 25th 2003)
Have a Merry Christmas, our sincere best wishes to you from all of us in UpsetChaps.

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 12 / DMN 3 (July 18th 2001)
No report or comments

Kitten's Got Claws (June 18th 2001)
Our sincere best wishes to BlueCat who after a very long period of inactivity has joined his brother Ajare in ECA :''(

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 12 / 28+ 1 (April 8th 2001)
The final game of the Savage season, our first league play since November 2000. The arena Can I take it to the Bridge? was so very new to UC. The map had however been dissected and documented by Requiem on UC's HQ, the random powerup caused confusion during practices. UC knew very little about 28+, Hive decided to use one basic tactic set with biases adapted as needed. Enter the arena for match one, UC quickly gained control of the central powerup and attacked 28+ base in force. 28+ however had good control of upper midfield areas with some exceptional railing and deathmatch skills. After many failed attempts UC finally broke the stranglehold and quickly gained successive captures. 28+ responded with an excellent capture and the match ended UC 6 / 28+ 1. The second match started in a similar fashion, 28+ however managed to gain more control of the central powerup and increased the frequency of their attacks. UC changed tactical bias and regained control, despite 28+ best efforts the second match ended UC 6 / 28+ 0.

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 20 / ECA 1 (March 25th 2001)
Another new arena Crossed Paths[DBOXCTF2], again a map that UC had never played on before. A special mention for Requiem who behind the scenes had made sure that the new map was dissected and documented on UC's HQ, along with Hive he had also composed a threefold set of initial tactics. Different biases were tried in practices, a minor adjustment to defence and powerup control was all that was needed. UC entered the server to face ECA, uncertain of the outcome. The first match started as expected with a battle for the powerup in midfield, UC capped quickly and despite some co-ordinated attacks by ECA the first match ended as a win to UC (UC 9 - ECA 0). The second match started very differently with ECA having a very strong defence, it was five minutes before a co-ordinated UC attack could break through the ECA defence and make a well deserved capture. Once UC were in the lead ECA had no choice and had to attack, UC however had control of vital items/areas and the match ended as a win for UC (UC 11 - ECA 1). Our best wishes to Ajare and ECA for the remainder of the season :)

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 26 / Soul 5 (March 18th 2001)
The arena was Japanese Castles[JAPANCTF] a map so very new to UC, infact UC had not played on it before. Soul had however played on it previously in the Barrysworld league so it was important to prepare well. Having tried many different formations and tactics in practices it was quite clear which worked and which did not. UC entered the Savage league servers to face Soul who did have above average pings of 100 due to France to UK connections, sadly there was not much we could do :( UC took the lead early in the first match and with good powerup control, communication and flag carrier interception continued to cap. Soul changed formation and started to attack in force, good escort and flag recovery they made some excellent captures. UC quickly regrouped and the first match ended with a win to UC (UC 10 - Soul 4). The second match saw UC again take the lead, having adjusted item control and making use of knowledge gained from the first match. Despite Soul's best efforts the second match ended as a win to UC (UC 16 - Soul 1). Our best wishes to Soul for the remainder of the season :)

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 3 / =LKFF= 3 (March 11th 2001)
This was such a very important fixture, the outcome of which would perhaps decide the division title. The arena was of concern to UC, Bloodlust[Q3WCTF1] is so very easy to lockdown from a defence point of view if a clan is looking for a draw, it is certainly not a map that should decide a division. However both UC and =LKFF= came into the game wanting two wins so that was not an issue :) The first game was intense with =LKFF= taking the lead quickly, UC responded with a quick capture. It was a stalemate for much of the match with must of the action in midfield. With only five minutes to go =LKFF= went into the lead, then while UC were regrouping =LKFF= captured again with some excellent powerup control and flag carrier escort. In the dying seconds of the match UC responded with a capture and the scoreline for match one ended with a win to =LKFF= (UC 2 - =LKFF= 3)

The UC team was changed for the second game, Requiem making his first league match appearance for UC since his return. Tactics were also adjusted, if UC were to have a chance of winning the division title this game must be won. The battle for midfield and control of the Quad and Haste powerups was being lost, however UC's defence, interception of enemy powerups and flag recovery was strong. The game was a stalemate, neither =LKFF= or UC could break the other clans momentum. During the match UC's midfield/attack was strengthened and some excellent escort and backup allowed the UC flag carrier to capture and break the stalemate. Both clans continued to attack strongly, despite =LKFF='s best efforts the game ended with a win to UC (UC 1 - =LKFF= 0)

We would like to extend our best wishes to =LKFF=, such very good games played as they should be; with honour and respect shown by all. We hope to meet you again next season and wish you the very best for the remainder of this season :)

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 16 / Frag 0 (March 4th 2001)
The arena was Finnegan's Revenge, also known inside UC HQ as "Capture the Haste" ;) Frag had connection problems with high pings, this no doubt made controlling midfield and the vital Haste of concern to them. Despite the connection problems Frag did not complain and their teamplay allowed them to control and deny Haste many tiimes. Despite their control the first game ended UC 10 - Frag 0. Their connection problems getting worse Frag decided to award a default win to UC ( UC 6 - Frag 0 ) and sadly withdraw from the Savage league :( Frag, we do hope your connections to the Savage servers improve and hope to see you return in Savage season 5.

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 8 / XTC 4 (February 25th 2001)
The arena for this match was the superb Courtyard Conundrum[Q3WCTF2]. XTC had player problems and the admin had already awarded a default win for game one to UC. However we do not enjoy winning by default, so after talking with XTC and the admin it was decided to play both games. The first game went well for UC, however despite XTC being under strength they still had control and caused us many problems. Final score for game one was UC 5 - XTC 3. The second game XTC appeared to be much more defensive, with their excellent deathmatch skills they made it hard for UC to even get close to the XTC flag. Some good teamwork and attacks by UC finally gave us the lead, XTC clawed back one capture to make the final score UC 3 - XTC 1. Our sincere best wishes to XTC, had you not had player problems we are sure that the scoreline would have been so very different.

Savage Quake3 CTF League Result - UC 13 / GzD 0 (February 18th 2001)
UC's return to league activity, the arena; Troubled Waters[Q3CTF2]. In the first match Gunziods had player problems and despite their excellent individual skills they simply could not counter a full strength UC side. Final score, UC 7 - GzD 0. The second match was awarded a default to UC ( UC 6 - GzD 0 ). Our best wishes to Gunziods for the rest of the season, we hope to meet again soon on equal terms.

'Yesterdays'  (February 2nd 2001)
The last year has been such a very frustrating time for all in UpsetChaps, perhaps the most unstable time in our five year history. Quake3 CTF alienated many of those in UC who enjoyed Quake2 CTF and our teamplay/tactics most certainly suffered from continually having to recruit. The frustration caused by always taking one step forward and two steps back lost us many valued members, one such valued member described it as a 'rollercoaster ride'. Hive has returned to lead UC and we have recruited recently, teamplay however will not be so easy to 'heal'. While we do not expect to be in winning form for quite a while, we have become active again and entered leagues. I look forward to seeing UC enter its sixth year in 2002 and of course a chaps log entry of 02.02.02 >;D

Happy New Year (January 1st 2001)
Our best wishes to you in the year that many will celebrate as the 'true' new millennium. 01.01.01 is certainly an interesting dateline :]

Season's Greetings (December 25th 2000)
Best wishes to you from all of us in UpsetChaps, hope you all have a very Merry Christmas :)

Timeout! (November 15th 2000)
Clans are finding it harder and harder to recruit players who enjoy playing Quake3 CTF. So very many posts in Quake3 CTF forums asking for recruits, clans folding, players deserting. Those clans are not alone, despite being very much dedicated to Quake3 CTF UC yet again finds itself recruiting. It has been decided to call timeout until we have a reliable and stable membership for Quake3 CTF. We have withdrawn from all leagues and ladders while recruits are found, teamplay is back to a high standard and UC is restructured. Once those tasks are complete we will be entering Quake3 CTF leagues and ladders once again. Our best wishes to all.
