Windows Vista does not ship with OpenGL drivers as standard and uses DirectX to provide compatibility with OpenGL 1.4 or below with NO extensions. This obviously causes a loss a FPS or graphical glitches when using Windows Vista's default drivers.

Contrary to rumour Windows Vista can support fully accelerated OpenGL as long as the graphics card vendor provides an Installable Client Driver (ICD).

Option 1
Download and install a Windows Vista compatible driver with OpenGL ICD from your graphics card vendor

Option 2
Install a Windows XP  compatible OpenGL ICD for your graphics card. NOTE that this may disable Desktop Windows Manager and downgrade the Aero interfaces' graphical effects.
